DOGE – Nuclear Oversight?

Two men @work, Trump & Musk. And Donald Trump, @realDonaldTrump, 47th president of the United States, messages the nation on February 16, 2025 – He who saves his Country does not violate any Law.

One must ask, what is he saying here?

Takes the president’s statement under consideration. It a question for another day.

Today, the morning of February 17th, the X platform (formerly known as Twitter) and now controlled by Elon Musk, features headlined news on the US ‘nuclear weapons complex’ decisions — and reversals of decisions made by the ‘Department of Government Efficiency’ (DOGE). The DOGE project, established by Donald Trump is coming under a firestorm of concern for its actions. DOGE, Trump initiated and under the direction of Musk, is a pulsing question mark (see more about DOGE at Wikipedia).

The DOGE group that has operated in secret to a large extent is, as its (legal? or illegal? moves come into public view) is  encountering irregular news reports. Questions about the intrusion of DOGE IT engineers into government systems, computers, data bases, encrypted intelligence, and much more that came without vetting, are now into looking at DOGE moves deep into the nuclear arena.

US nuclear agency personnel have been peremptorily ‘fired’. Now, realization of the firings are hitting. Result? A loud chorus of OMG exclamations followed by a rush to locate nuclear agency personnel and initiate reversals of the firings as nuclear weapons oversight capabilities collapse and ‘skeleton crews’ attempt to ‘hold down the fort’ in the interim.

What a scene… the first weeks of the new administration…

Expect coming months of turmoil.
