What a Month

In the Northern Hemisphere, June brings summer and a summer solstice, the day with the most daylight hours. This year it brought, it seemed week after week, a fading of encompassing light

This year’s June brought a dimming of prospects for national and global well-being. Wars, conflicts between nations, accelerating arms budget spending, an escalating nuclear weapons race, a continuing existential climate crisis that has reached all-too-evident tipping points … These highest-level threats are pulsing, displaying blinking warning lights, offering melancholy sights and sounds to move onto a smarter path.

Yet, in strategic terms, June 2025 witnessed across nations grievance politics, a base level bringing on a ‘world of hurt’ driving toward disastrous results.

As a result, June has demanded fewer words and more in the form of quotidian mood.

Lean in and listen to the temper of our times …
